BIO:

The name 'Arts Fishing Club' is an homage to our grandfathers: Colonel Arthur Kessenich and Arthur Schmidt. The name serves as reminder to approach our music in the same way they taught us to fish: go out every day with the sincerest intention for success: casting out again and again despite the inevitable empty-handed reels. A successful day of fishing is not determined by what you end up with at but rather the beauty of engaging in the activity with people you love. Fishing, music, and life are about the adventure that they take you on and the people you get to share it with. That's what Arts Fishing Club is all about.

Press Release:

Arts Fishing Club is an electrifying folk rock project out of Nashville, TN led by the strong lyrical and vocal abilities of Christopher Kessenich.  They've been compared to notables: David Ramirez, The Lumineers, and the Dave Matthews Band.  Fresh off of a 1600+ mile walking tour from Maine to Nashville completed as one of The Walking Guys, Kessenich (guitar/vocals), Matt Siffert (Bass), and Peter Eddins (Keys) are excited to be focusing on their first full-length album.

Arts Fishing Club's self-titled debut EP was produced by Billy Bennett (MGMT) and was met with overwhelming excitement.  Kessenich has toured the east coast, played dates in Europe including performances at legendary venues like the Jammin' Java (Washington D.C.), Smith's Olde Bar (Atlanta, GA), and the 40 Watt (Athens, GA) in addition to festivals:  Philadelphia Folk Festival, Mile of Music (Appleton, WI), Newport Folk Festival, Kalamazoo Rib Fest, Acorn Fest.

I cannot thank you enough for agreeing to play the Taste of Vienna this year. I realize it was a mad last minute for you, but I think the end product from you was spectacular. I received so many great compliments from the vendors, crowds and fire department members about the quality of your musical performance.

If the name Arts Fishing Club sounds familiar, it’s because we covered his remarkable tour last year when he and a few other songwriters WALKED their tour from Maine to Tennessee. It was a wonderful story and gave me a glimpse into this talented artist. It’s clear that “Art” is well on his way to a successful indie music career. His music drips with genuine reflection on classic stylings, including a bit of blues, pop, and certainly what we might call classic rock. If you’re looking for a nice ‘kick back and enjoy’ album, you can’t go wrong with Arts Fishing Club.

Their performance was perfect for our concert-type listening room while the presence of the lively music could easily fill a large club or saloon. They are down-to-earth folk, easy to work with, and the group’s music jells the minute the first chord is struck. Rave reviews from our audience! We were mighty impressed and pleased to have them entertain our patrons. They will definitely be back!
